Diabetic Eye Screening
We are part of the Cheshire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (CDESP). All diabetic patients are invited every year for Digital Retinal Screening by CDESP to detect signs of Diabetic Retinopathy.
This screening is important to detect early changes to the retina caused by diabetes. These changes have no visual symptoms and can only be treated if detected early.
We are happy to provide your screening, either alongside your regular sight test (as a diabetic patient, you are entitled to an NHS sight test) or as a standalone appointment.
When you attend your screening appointment, you will have Tropicamide drops in your eyes to dilate your pupils. You will not be able to drive for several hours after this so please ensure that you have made arrangements to get home.
